I think that today was a very fun and interesting day! After having a Chinese version of an egg and cheese sandwich, we arrived at school. After sitting in the Library, Brady and I went down to the basketball courts to play some 5 on 5. After a short time, it became apparent that it was hot, very hot. Afterwards, Nick, Ryan and Brady were drenched in sweat and were very thirsty. So, we headed down to the school store to grab a new Hui Wen T-shirt and some water. After attending another class, all of the Pingree students came together and drew some Calligraphy on red paper and fans. I had a good time and found it kind of relaxing. Later, after having a nice lunch of pizza and going out to get new shirts, our group headed out for the Dajia Mazu Temple on the outskirts of Taichung. The temple's structure was very complex and amazing! Thanks to the Taiwanese students who helped explain the traditions and who translated for our guide! It was so enlightening and was a very nice experience. I was happy to walk away with a few pictures, good luck charms, and the thought that the rest of my school year will go really well (according to the gods). We arrived at the Gaomei Wetlands as the sun started to go down. It was very nice outside, and the water was fine. It was very cool (at least in my opinion) to see all the crabs scuddling about, the mud puppies flopping all around, and feeling the comforting mud and water under our feet. By the end of the day, I was very tired or "Wo Lei le". To finish the great day, my host family took me to a very famous restaurant in a shopping center. For the first time, I had Beef Noodles, Chicken Noodles and Steamed Soup Dumplings. It was a very delicious and new way to end a good day.
