Malaysian students, looking at the sun and making bubble tea

Today was really fun!  The day started with all the students gathering in a conference room to interact with students visiting from Malaysia. It was so interesting to see the differences in cultures among the Taiwanese students, the Malaysian students, and us. We noticed their uniforms were different, and their school requires all students to have short hair. My host informed me that a long time ago in Taiwan, all students had to have very short hair as a dress code in school. We broke up into groups and visited the planetarium in Hui-Wen. We have never been exposed to that type of class style so it was interesting to see all the different things the school has to offer. We observed the sun through the telescope and learned new things about the solar system. Afterwards, we proceeded to a large room and made bubble tea. We have been offered that quite a lot here, but today we were able to make it on our own. We ate their school lunch, which we all were shocked by because it is a lot different from the set up at Pingree. Then, we learned Chinese yoyo along with other hard games. A teacher who was very talented showed us the techniques.  It took me a lot longer to understand how to do the various games. However, once I got it, I didn't want to stop!  We broke out into classes after that, and I went to a class where I was offered more food. I enjoyed trying everything they offered because I could tell they really wanted me to try it and be apart of their culture. After that we went to the night market, and it was an amazing experience! We all had so much fun. It was almost like Times Square but much cooler. Today was a great day, and I can't wait for tomorrow!
